Facilities Maintenance Technician
The Facilities Maintenance Technician II will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on the facility equipment and property structures, in addition to performing grounds maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting. The Facilities Maintenance Technician II will work on projects assigned by the Facilities Manager.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Maintains logs and computerized preventive and corrective maintenance repair files to comply with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Reads and follows blueprints, schematics, charts, computerized maintenance work orders, schedules, and written instructions.
- Coordinates and advises other departments, contractors, and staff for department projects and maintenance.
- Acts as a resource for advanced troubleshooting and updates leadership and appropriate staff on maintenance situations and conditions.
- Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessary.
- Perform facilities cleaning and janitorial tasks as needed.
- Regularly check community spaces to identify issues with litter, mechanical issues, or breakdowns, repairs, cleaning, and patch work.
- Implement preventative maintenance measures.
- Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
- Complete inspections of offices and warehouses regularly, or at Facilities Manager’s request.
- Repair and troubleshoot systems and complete preventative maintenance.
- Plan, schedule, and track preventative maintenance.
- Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel, and follow safety protocol.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain the cleanliness of outside spaces such as parking lots and sidewalks.
- Oversee the trash containers on the company premises.
- Perform other maintenance duties as requested.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation
- High School diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 5 years’ working experience in a similar role
- Experience with plumbing, drywall, painting
- Must have electrical knowledge
- Prior warehouse experience a plus
- Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment.
- Team player mind set required to work and support other departments.
- Able to follow detailed instructions.
- Detail oriented with an aptitude for problem solving.
- Available to work weekends and after hours as needed.
- Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including lawn mowers and small hand tools.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Able to work well with minimal supervision.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures.
