Job Summary:
The Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining safety, quality, efficiency, cost, service, and delivery standards within their team. The logistics supervisor will supervise the locations of merchandise shipments, attend to the needs of team members. They will support the Logistics Manager by ensuring the proper training of the drivers and to ensure on-time delivery and pick-up schedules are met. The Logistics Supervisor should have the ability to maintain respectful and fluid communication with their team, manager, customers, and other company associates.

Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Supervises and corrects team members for proper load management, reinforcing associate and load safety measures.
  • Serve as back up for Driver's to cover routes based on business needs.
  • Supervises and evaluates the safe and efficient process of loading and unloading merchandise throughout the shift.
  • Supervises that the loading areas are kept clean, free of obstacles that could cause accidents.
  • Coordinates and supervises dock employees in the area to ensure proper utilization of company and customer resources.
  • Organizes dock work schedules and coordinates time off requests with superior.
  • Works closely with the production team to ensure alignment in meeting daily/weekly/monthly and annual business objectives.
  • Performs daily inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards regulated by law, and OSHA compliance and DOT compliance.
  • Inspects trailers throughout the day for cleanliness and to ensure proper loading/unloading techniques are used.
  • Leads daily team meetings to maintain fluid communication with their team.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Commercial Driver’s License CDL Class A
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organized and proactive
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • 3+ years working operations experience preferably in the transportation industry.
  • Knowledge of general DOT & OSHA regulations is a plus.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in supervising a logistic team.
